AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY CURE BY DESIGN FASHION SHOW
The American Cancer Society chose The Temple House to host their annual Cure by Design Event Fashion Runway Show. Cure by Design Miami is an event in which the corporate community joins forces with local retailers and cancer survivors to benefit the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives, celebrate lives and lead the fight for a world without cancer. The highlight of the evening is a program that celebrates local cancer survivors of all ages and of all cancer types, who share their inspirational journey and rock the runway!
The night started off with a cocktail hour on the second floor outside terrace with an excellent performance by The French Horn Collective. Guests then made their way into the Grand Room that had been transformed into a long white runway platform that would soon be the walk of celebration for more than a dozen Cancer survivors. The night was incredibly powerful and moving as each survivor strutted and danced down the runway, each with their own chosen inspirational song. The event was packed with friends, family members, supporters, doctors, nurses and media with hardly a dry eye in room. Sponsored by the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the event highlighted the impact of Sylvester’s survivorship program, which supports and guides cancer survivors and their families in the days and years following treatment. By turning the spotlight on strong and healthy survivors of different ages and backgrounds, Sylvester and the American Cancer Society celebrate their success stories and the robust research for a cure that makes it all possible. Additional sponsors included Antidote, Macys, Saks 5th Avenue, Madewell, Elvis & Elvin, and Danny Jeleca Hair Salon who did all of the hair and makeup.
